As we speak the Auger experiment has now changed to the Indya experiment which will now focus on the transformation of a girl i have been training for the past 4 months. Indya has been competing now for 2 months in the sport of powerlifting. Her mother is a figure competitor. Indya is in her mid 30s and training to one day box, Compete in Figure, and to become a top powerlifter. When she came to me for training she really was stuck. on here scale it read 161 and she couldn't break it. With in 2 weeks i got her in the low 150's on her scale. Indya has natural genetics for strong arms. That was the first thing i noticed. But she doesn't have the greatest body for deadlifts which has been the exercise she has struggled with the most. But since i am the leader for training deadlift's probably in the whole world. I have her deadlifting 265 pounds in competition. Indya will be competing in 2 weeks in the uspf. We are trying to get her to the nationals. she already holds records in the epf. which she is competing on OCT 16, and Oct 29th. She will do one more powerlifting show this year probably in November. And then we may put her training towards figure competition. Indya's goals are to get in shape and get stronger. but mainly she wants to go into a lower weight class, which will make her more competitive. Our Final goal is to have Indya stronger then she is now, competing in the 130 class. Her starting weight of 165 pounds on my scale at night. that's 35 pounds she needs to loose. I have put her on a medium supplement program to help with the training. The supplements and vitamins all work together with the diet so that you are not starving the body and you can still have full nutrition. But your reducing calories. This will be the first week that we start doing full double session work outs. So we will see what happens. my goal for her is that on oct 29 th she weigh 151.0 pounds. lets see if she can make that. Tomorrrow is the first work out please stay tuned .

becoming the best trainer in the north east to America
When i started the Auger blog i wasn't sure what would happen with it. but since then a lot of things have changed.
For 1 i am training a lot of people. over 30 clients that range from regular people to professional figure models. Here is what happened, i figured out that there are only about 3 men in history who have ever trained a team of top powerlifters. when i mean top i mean people ranked in the top 100 in the country. So i made it my next goal to be number 4. I thought to my self how the hell can i prove that my training systems work for every one all ages, all walks of life, from the young to the old, from the light to the heavy, from the male to the female. Thats when it dawned on me, i would need to begin training people once again for competition. in 2003-2006 i had a bodybuilding team that pretty much reaked havoc on all the major competitions in the north east. i had Dustin Mahan, middle weight winner npc, naional top 20 guy. I also had Jy Gabiola a 18 year old phenom who took 2nd in the mens open at the new englands, then took 4th in the npc teen nationals. I acutally trained 3 back to back to back teen mr. massachusetts winners. Then i was training NIcolle Gagne, c.j. digamborino, vinny formasano, all to top 5 finishes in the light heavys and middle weight classes at npc competition. I was also helping out a bunch of bodybuilders online with diets, training, and competition posing. People were coming from all over to be trained. I was also competing at that time going as far as the NPC nationals. With all these great trainees came a lot of responsability. and i thought i wasnt giving my self a fare shot at going pro. so i pretty much slowed down trained them less and me more. i over trained at that time and didn't have my priorities strait. i also wasnt in a good financial place. Being patient can sometimes be the best thing for you. i had trained with and trained many great powerlifters in my life time. But it wasn't until now that i am able to train so many, the number one reason is the system i developed, has totally changed the way every one will lift. It is ground breaking, revolutionary, and not hard to do. depending on how hard you want to work, but the main result has been 4 top 100 lifters in the whole united states in the first 6 months. i have 6 more people that i am training that are getting close, which if i can get all 10 by the end of the year. that would not just be a milestone, i think only louie Simmons has reached that goal and no one else ever. Making me one of the top trainers in the whole united states. the show to watch will be september 10th. which i should if my lifters perform to there ability i should have 6 and be on my way towards 10. The best way for me to state the result is how many girls in your life have you ever seen deadlift over 300 pounds ??? answer that question first. what if i told you i have 2 girls deadlifting over 300 pounds in competition with no belt, no wraps , no suit. they take no supplements other than a protein bar, and multy vitamin. they are doing this with my training , my diet, and what god has given to them at birth.
how about seeing a guy deadlift 600 pounds with just a belt on.
I guess its all about getting more people so that i have more people to train and more people to promote. The system works are you looking for training in the northeast, contact paul desimone or gym warriors now at 978 766 6280

auger is insane
ok todays auger blog just to put it plainly is auger is insane. today he came to me and told me he felt weak!! that he wasnt really strong .. and then he deadlifted 425 pounds for 10 reps.. after doing that he says i would like to concur on what i told you , i think im actually a lot stronger.. so i told him lets do anther set and video tape it .. this is what we shot
that 445 pounds for 9 reps right after he had done 425.
its pretty funny but people say this stuff to me all the time ... your getting stronger its a mental thing , as long as you follow the program, and put your train to the brain.. nothing can stop you!!
contestt is july 16 at gym warriors enter the meet, get ready to go nuts,
you can accomplish any thing with posative energy, the right training program and the right diet !!! its all about you wanting it !!
book a training program with me today !!! or come to my lifting seminar july 17th .
and then he decided to pull 465 for 5 reps ! after doing all those reps ... i would say this dude can proabably max out right now at a 650 deadlift. just needs to do some rack pulls. but for now ..its the auger blog ..toon in next time !!!! for more

auger blog! yes its been a while

each picture is taken 1 month a part . pic 1 was after the first 3 months of dieting and training, pic two was last month , and picture 3 was taken yesterday. pay attention to the chest muscles how they got continuelly firmer and harder. The bottom of the stomach has lost fat storage, and the overall fat over the whole body has lost fat, also the arms have better overall vascularity and the skin looks tighter. total weight loss from each picture is "0" typically i hold more fat on my back than any other body part!! so when we go over all the back pictures the change is insane.
the auger .. has seen extensive changes in the past 3 weeks .. for one his body weight is now 215 pounds .. gaining another pound . whats impressive is that he has lost body fat, he is leaner and gaining weight. this was thought to be impossible with out the use of steroids .. in which i have proved wrong countless times before .. as you will see in my pictures..
secretly i have made my self the test subject of a 6 month experiment to see how much muscle i could gain and fat i could loose with out using any supplements, or vitamins, only food, and a recovery drink i made for my self after a work out would be used. i would also use 2 protein bars, and protein shake as meals.. i used isopure protein i would fluctuate my calories each week. . as body fat would drop i would increase the calories this way it would be a steady and slow increase of muscle gain , to loss of fat so far .. my starting weight was 275 currently i am weighing 255 pounds. my waist has dropped 6 sizes, in which i am happy with. my strength has gone up also .. 30-40 pound increase on the 3 major lifts dead, squat and bench. my numbers now are about 100 pounds off from my all time best totaling lifts so i am 300 pounds off the mark of my best total. currently i totaled a 1275 raw with no belt. my alltime total was a 675 dead, 550 squat, and 385 bench raw with a belt. currently i did a 555 dead, 455 squat, and a 265 bench with out a belt . so looking at the numbers you can see that i am starting to get stronger and closer to my all time total.
if you dont know in 2006 i suffered a major injury and set back tearing my tricep tendon, and pec. injuries that took 4 years of rehab!! mental and physical. in 2010 i suffered a major injury again on a freak accident, to my pec and elbow.
so the rehab began again just as i had gotten my numbers back up . this time i am taking my time .. and setting goals that are realistic to the injury. also going to drs. to get mri,s x rays, and information on the injury to help the rehab process ..
so far its been 1 year. and as you can see other than the bench my numbers are going back to where they should be. but again this is a totally different approach. instead of doing the rehab and training i am training to rehab.. its all movement and mental based training. very different from your every day work out. the most important things that i have learned is diet is the main component to muscle gain, the other thing i have learned that over and under training are very similar. if you under train you can become sore , and if you over train you can become sore .. its all about reaching the correct thresh hold of work for each muscle group. this has been the main component of my thesis .
the auger experiment will continue but on a much more scientific level.
on july 16 th we will be holding a powerlifting contest at gym warriors in peabody mass
on the 17th of july i will be holding a seminar for all athletes on how to over come injuries mentaly and physically. i will also take questions on training and diet .. tickets are 25.00 per person .. starts at 12 noon.!! you must purchase in advance you can by calling 978 766 6280

the auger experiment part 21 we are back

so its been about a week prior to writing .. and a lot has happened. since then the Auger has gone out of his mind to say the lease . he keeps telling me he wants to push this thing even farther and go insanely intense. so i have to say the auger has gained another pound upping his total body mass to 215 pounds which is incredible since he keeps loosing fat! still the auger who had the war with the arm man. during competition the arm man told auger to turn the music up .. the auger is still talking about it. he cant believe that the arm man has now embraced the auger way. other things have also happened. the ostrim sticks have now been called auger sticks , and every one is into the name and the jerky.. beef and ostritch.. the auger has also been grunting and walking around the gym making God awful sounds lol .. its pretty funny to say the least . So it has been a while and i really need to reconnect, with every one .. the DeSimone project which has been going on for the past 6 months, has been my top secret training program. which today i will release the magic before and afters.

LOOK AT THE DIFFERANCE IN THE AFTER!!

THE AUGER NOW REFERS TO HIM SELF AS THE AUGER... so basically i have developed a training system that changes the way you train each week, not only in the form and the exercises. it also mixes some training with sprints and other types of throws ect.. this has created a lot of mass on my physique, and also tons and tons of calories. !!! Calories need to be from a good source . i do not eat crap food. to the point where i had to make my self eat something bad. my cheat food was frozen yogurt.. you must be strict with what you put in your body! that and your training should always reflect the life style that your living. i have since stopped doing cardio in the gym and only walking out side and or doing drills. the point is. . this training grows muscle, and creates size , shape, and simetry!
as always follow the auger blog and share it with your friends.

the auger experiment part 19 holes
This experiment has become such a journey in only 3 weeks. This week is no different. this week brings us to the powerlifting contest for the epf. may 28 th. so far 8 people from gym warriors have signed up for the contest. i believe we may have 4 more people representing the gym maybe more we will soon find out. the contest costs 10.00 at the door and the auger is the door man. Yes the auger, he will be live in person at the contest. All gym warriors clothing will be sold at half price at the meet, we will also have some macho man stuff, and who knows what else. i am looking forward to having the contest and getting the gym cleaned up, getting all these left over trophy's out of here. so i can clean my office completely. i hate not having a clean office. The auger who has been going out of his mind lately, has noticed so much change in his body its very hard to fathom. how is this guy getting so many results this quickly. i have to say its his determination, my training, and my diet. He has to put in the work but the battle plan is there. its like if bill bellicheck is your coach you know that your going to have a good game plan no matter how well or badly you play. how well you play is what results you get. its no different in training, bodybuilding, powerlifting, and sports. to become the best athlete, you need to be physically and mentally ready for the challenge. You also must eat and keep your body active. so when i train people for competition i have them take 3 days off prior to competing. i like to have them come in on Monday and Tuesday and do some brushing up on form , commands, and warm ups. this way they get a muscle memory for the lifts in the contest. it usually doesn't feel like much but what it does do. is builds confidence that i didn't see in the last contest. When you get a new recruit so to speak its very difficult to just throw them into a contest. but sometimes its what we do, to see if they can handle it. Its also good experience, no matter how prepared you are for your first contest, 900 times out of 901 your going to screw up. Usually its on a command. Unless you have a trainer who knows how to do command training, you are not going to be used to someone telling you when and when not to lift a weight. Any one can bounce a weight of their chest. but can you lift the weight off your chest when someone tells you to. That is the true question! This is why competing is a challenge and why it is also fun. I do train people who are in the same weight class, which does not bother me because the best person will win! but we are all on 1 team, our personal goals are to beat our last lift. No matter what place we finish as long as we are taking a step forward then we are winning.
I would also like to explain that i train people to the 60-80 format which means we almost never max out on any lifts. our goal is to max out on the day of the contest and peak out. This way we are never training our body to overload. and instead we do it on the most important day. the day of the meet. this is also the same type of training for bodybuilding. when you bodybuild no one cares if you were the best the day before or if you did a 900 pound deadlift at home. it doesn't count unless its on that day. You have to come dialed in, just like the horse from kentucky derby , the bodybuilding term dialed in means you came in at your best. This is why when i tell people don't max out on your lifts learn how to train! but your brain to the train!
I am looking for more people to train to prepare for contest both bodybuilding and powerlifting. If you are interested please contact me. I do have a lot of people but as the summer comes i can take on more people and work longer hours at night. I want you to break records i want you to compete! i want you to destroy the competition. join us in doing so! compete , train , grow and win . with gym warriors and pauly des!
as always god bless,
go Bruins!!!! pauly des

the auger experiment part 16 and 17 Big Toney
back and legs.
Back part 16!
IT was back day for the Auger, and Big Toney just happened to step in. Big Toney ( aka al) is a heavy hitter when it comes to upper body lifts. He will tell you him self , he wishes he worked legs when he was younger. Big Toney is a x marine who has the unsashable appetite for weights, and heavy metal. When Big Al walked in the Auger went nuts. he started head banging and air guitaring. i was a little scared. Then i caught the two conversing about heavy metal , and training. The auger got very scared when he heard that Big Toney had just purchased the rest of the ostrims. Auger needs his protein too!!! he was yelling and screaming at the top of his lungs. what else is new ?
The auger did a lot of good form exercises, squeezing and pulling. but i did hear some complaining about his supplement regiment that he really wasn't feeling much from the vitamins ect. I had to reassure him before he tried to rip my arm off. He also said people had been asking him if he still worked out. funny thing is i thought he looked bigger. HIs forearms have more separation, and he's more vascular. I know what to look for, but i have to help him feel better about the diet and training so i took some pics to show him.
Auger saw the pics and could see for himself the change. in 3 weeks.
now lets take a peak at leg day.
Legs
Today marked the day i was going to personal train Mr. Auger at 12 noon time at Gym Warriors peabody. I had to train Joyce at 11, and derek at 1. The auger came in early to stretch a little and get amped up before his work out. We talked about how crapy his deadlift form was the week before , and how he needed some help on his squats. it was evident that if the auger continued to use the same form he would be injured on in a wheel chair. His deadlift looked like a stiff leg deadlift. Then his squat was not hitting parallel. So what was it going to take to help the auger. My personal training. I got the Auger to deadlift first we went up to 445. with propper form!!!! take a look
Squats were just as fun! We were going over each lift and showing how to drive the bar through the body. Auger caught on very well. He also loved the type o negative music that was playing. black no 1 is a good song. its pretty funny. my favorite line is" you cant go out cuz your roots are showing! die them black" its about a hair dye. Any ways we had to change a few things around in the augers supplement regimen. making it a tad bit stronger. Big Toney came in right as the Auger was finished. He was in rare form. REady for an isopure and a nitric force. yummy!! ostrims are almost r.i.p. When the Big toney and Auger collide the earth shakes!! We also had a couple people from Power fit come join gym warriors today. They actually took off their power fit shirts and wore them inside out. I have nothing against that gym, i think its a ok gym and i rather see the mom and pops then the stupid big fitness shit holes that keep popping up and people keep wasting their time in. But i want to get one thing strait, we built gym warriors for a purpous and that is to get results. People come here to train with out people staring at them , for results, to get in shape to be themselves. Its the hard core mentality that you can be your self and train really train. if you think training is about being quiet, then you never pushed your self to the limit, scream rip through the weights get loud, lift and train. Get results what ever the results you want! that is why i go to work every day thats why Gym Warriors is here! and thats why you should come to Gym Warriors

the auger experiment part 13 deads
Today was a deadlift day for the auger .. and deadlifts are what he did. 475 pounds for 2 reps. and let me tell you the Auger was screaming a lot of crazy things while doing these deads. Then came squating, that was something to watch!!! finally getting to parallel. and below. He his a 275 on the squat for 5 reps. He also said that this was one of his best leg work outs of all time! The augers intensity is at an all time high. i am going to suggest though that The auger gets some personal training sessions on leg day for form . because his deadlift is not correct form. he uses way too much back and needs some training to help with that 1 on 1. So in a 10 day span the Auger has already rocked the deadlift. thats pretty impressive i am giving my self a tap on the back. !!
now on to some highlights of the day. kim today deadlifted 255 pounds for 2 reps and also squated 160 for 4 reps. EpF powerlifting contest will be held at gym warriors on may 28th. its 10 dollars for tickets to watch. the contest should be very impressive. Every one has been training very hard for this meet.
now here is the pic you all voted for . the auger leg !!!
and big mike attempted a 655 rack pull the other day but couldnt get it off the rack .. he did get a 635 for 2. which is pretty good, he will be going for a 600 pound raw deadlift on the 28th of may . come see the big lifts at warriors 119 foster st. peabody ma. 01960

the auger experiment part 10 Girl power
Today's Blog involves true Girl Power! I have heard time, and time again woman talking about how they don't want to get bulky from lifting weights, and how they saw this girl get so bulky from lifting. Myth! First of all woman lift weights to burn fat. Not to get big. You do not have the testosterone, or bone structure to put bulky muscle on. Unless your a man lifting weights pretending to be a female. Lifting will not make you big and bulky. If your getting bulky from weight training your obviously not doing it correctly. A lot of woman i have met were scared to lift weights because of all these rumors about weight training. I guess the first girl i really trained with the Girl power method was Nicole Gagne. She got a nice flat stomach, a round firm bum, and tight legs. Her body weight dropped by 10 pounds, all we did was weight training, heavy weight training. Then came Shawna SId, my x gf. Her transformation was very dramatic. She lost about 20 pounds, and tightened up every thing going down to a body weight of 130 pounds. But Shawna also became one of the best female powerlifters in Massachusetts with in a 6 month period. She ended up holding all the e.p.f powerlifting records, and it was a goal of hers to then try figure competition. My reputation for getting girls in shape goes much farther back to about 1996. But i never really broadcasted any thing that i had accomplished till recently. With Shawna i developed a system, a mathematical formula for strength and fat loss. This is the formula that i have been using on all my new recruits. The key factor is woman are very strong, they just don't know it. All you need to do is figure out how to tap into your natural strength and train so that it helps you burn fat, and become stronger. This is what i developed and this is what i am about to show you. Most woman can leg press massive amounts of weight, they just need to know how to increment the weights up. some of the guys reading this may be shocked, and may actually feel like; well a pussy.
yah that's kim above doing about 600 pounds on the leg press full reps , 4-6 reps. this was pretty heavy for her yes, but its more to prove the point. That woman can lift heavy ass weight be strong and get leaner. How many guys in the gym struggle with this type of weight.
So i decided to have Jenilee take a few stabs at the leg press. after she lost about 15 pounds from training with me we hit the leg press at about 420 pounds for 8-10 reps; full reps! i was very impressed with her performance. take a look below!
So we can move on to the deadlift, I see so many guys in the gym not doing them. Why would you not do deadlifts? probably because they are hard, too difficult for you? i think not, check this out. how about not 1, but 2 girls doing a 245 pound deadlift
By now you get the point that girls can be strong and burn body fat. The best part is that it really does not take long to get them strong using my theorem. I have only been training most of these girls for about 2 months. This is how i know that any one can be strong, you just need to know how to do it.
If you want to train with me, compete, get in shape, and loose bodyfat all you need to do is contact gym warriors. please follow the blog and you will learn and see the results from the next powerlifting contest may 28th. This is only the beginning.
Now back to the auger, Auger came in today full speed. I was training Derek, when auger screamed to me that he had just been in a tattoo shop when he saw my niece Rachel. He said he was talking to the artist about getting a tat on his elbow, when Rachel was sitting behind him. She hear him mentioned the blog, and then Rachel new she had seen him from the movie Arny. He left the tattoo parlor ready to train.
So today the Auger trained shoulders. He said he has to admit he is now learning how to train for the first time in his life. He enjoyed his shoulder workout greatly today. while he was training, He then grabbed an abb aqua force and 2 mass isopures. When the Auger was working out he was blasting the music. he kept on screaming NIce, not sure why. I would think that's a good sign. I have noticed his motivation has improved, Tomorrow will be officially the first week and first weigh in for the auger experiment. tune in tomorrow for a day of Auger proportions.
as always train to win!

the auger experiment part 9 gorillas in the gym
The return of Big louie Pep. My old training partner came into the gym on a surprise visit today. we had trained are whole lives together. i think from the age of 17-25 we trained almost every single day together. Big lou and I are from the same town in italy we are descendents of the etruscans. Original Italians who were known as barbarians. Fondi is tiny. the funny thing is our parents settled in the same town in massachusetts. people call that fate, some call it conincedence, when you get older you learn there is no such thing as conencidence. to become a great lifter you need someone to constnatly push you, to motivate you to get stronger and bigger. This is why the two of us constantly grew, and constantly got strong. we would outlift everyone in any gym we would walk into. the funny thing is we were only 20-21 years old when we were doing this. We were known for picking up peoples cars and putting them down. Shit you see in comic books. But in real life. Big lou came in to do deadlifts and front squats. i can remember when lou did his first deadlift back in 1999, thats when you had to lock your stuff up. ok usa it was time to jean claud van damn this next set. Big lou was ready he was going to do a 700 pound deadlift for a double and he was going to do it today at Gym warriors. With Pauly des snapping the pics. i wish we had people following us around with video cameras. Big lou did it, take a look
notice no wraps and full extension of the back. This is a great lift. this is what lifting is all about, its about training, picking up stuff that no one else can and doing it with enthusiasm and then you can joke around after the lift is done. We always joke around in the gym its what keeps you sane. how can you pick up 6-7.800 pounds and not be a little crazy. you gotta have fun not think about the weights being heavy, and just have fun. every day is a new challenge, even if your only lifting 30 pounds its all about getting to 35 , 40,45, ect you want to progress. if you dont want to progress in your lifting then you should really take up another sport. doing the same lifts every day gets boring, its redundant, and it really doesn't make lifting fun. Goals you need to set obtainable goals. lou won his pro card in strongman he didnt say im going to compete 1 time and win, no thats not what he did it all started with weights, 1 plate at a time, 1 rep at a time. then he competed. won a little show qualified for nationals. and then Gym warriors sponsored him for his pro card in which he won. But you need to start off small one small goal at a time. Big lou and I had a great time in the gym. you gotta love chalk on the ears!
So today was the First leg work out for the Auger. He walked into the gym while i was training someone, today i trained 3 girls before 1 pm. the auger had walked in about 1:20 while i was training jauclin. He walked over to me and was in need of a energy drink. this is not normal behavior for the auger but today he was a bit tired. So i gave him one of the the new Gat energy packs that i had mike try last week. Auger didnt really get any thing from it. He needed more, so he asked me for a NItric Force. The nitric force from abb has been a hot seller. Auger slammed the whole entire thing, i am surprised he didnt have a heart attack yet. But what can you do. so if you go back to the auger experiment day 3 i think we found that the augers best deadlift of all time was 460 for 5. We would see what he would get today on day 1.
the auger ended up hitting on the deadlift
185x10
350x10
405x5
435x4
435x4
450x2
so for the auger hit a 435 deadlift. This is 1 rep and 25 pounds off of his all time best not only that but he did 2 sets of it. i watched him do the 450 his form was not the greatest. he did almost a stiff leg deadlift on the first rep , his second rep was much better. he could have gotten 1 more but thats enough for week 1. i can see him finishing off with 500 for 5.
as for squats he needs to work on his depth and form . so i really wanted to see what kind of weights he would use and actually watch him train. Since we talked so much about squat in yesterdays blog i decided to hold back a little today. and wait for next week. you never know who the hell is going to walk into the gym or what the hell is going to happen.
The auger keeps telling me he looks more vascular every day he keeps saying this to me. have i noticed it yet... i really think he is! scary.
Todays blog is dedicated to Mike L you know who you are! my self.

the auger experiment part 8 retrospect and squat
Todays auger experiment takes us looking to tomorrow. First off bin laden has been killed and its just the same its a new day and we are looking towards tomorrow. Now cutting off the head of a snake sometimes that snake grows a new head or 2 heads. But at least mission one has been accomplished. Tomorrow will be the Augers first real leg work out in the experiment. It will be the first true test of grit for the auger. He exclaimed to me that he may bring a bucket just in case he pukes. I told him it was a good idea, but it is not necessary to puke to have a good leg work out. More or less its a good leg work out when you feel as if you are going to hurl, or pass out. This means your intensity and weights were very effective. people ask why do they get so sick from the squat. the number 1 reason is central nervous system stimuli. the squat is literally a dangerous but i would say most important exercise. The squat takes you into the realms of fight or flight. i want you to think about this. your literally putting weights on your back directly over the spine. This puts direct pressure on the spine. And in turn it creates a response of absolute exhaustion. What you also don't realize is when you perform the squat your using the whole trunk, which is all the stabilizer muscles in the abdominals. this also is why some people get the roid gut. From holding your breath while doing squats. The squat is definitely the most misunderstood lift of all the lifts. people don't do them because they are hard! not only is the free squat the hardest exercise, but its also the most misused exercise . when i say misused i mean in form. first of all the parallel squat is a good way to train your squat to stay healthy. in powerlifting we learn to hit below parallel. in bodybuilding, most bodybuilders will go to or below parallel. what i see in gyms i wouldn't even call a half squat. it all starts in high school, football coaches teaching kids improper form, and passing that knowledge on and on and on . its like going down a ladder . inconsistent information causes for improper form. So i started doing some research on the web just to give you an idea of how many idiots out there are teaching people the wrong way to squat! ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yha2XAc2qu8&NR=1) this video here explains to me why so many morons have no clue how to squat. Rule number 1 !!! you never ever ever look down!!!!!!!!! you never move the neck or head during a squat. Just ask Chris Cormier about that. looking down while squatting is probably the worst advice you can give someone. notice the kid in the video performing the squat correctly when he looks strait. the best way to squat is to keep the head fixed in a strait position.
Have you ever seen Ed Coan looking strait down during a squat! hell no. so in my research i started looking for more idiots talking about squats. moron video number 2 ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRnGI3c5Jjs ) this video calls itself perfect squat. Though some of this video has merit, i find 3 major problems with the video. 1 the subject is wearing running sneakers, which push you on your toes, and put pressure on the knee. If he had known any thing about squatting he would know you need flat sole shoes. next the squats this kid is performing are not parallel because you do not judge by the knee and hamstring, you judge by the hip. this is the most important and most frustrating part of competitive powerlifting. is a judge that does not know the rules, and people thinking they are squatting below parallel when they are not even at parallel. Videos such as these are why people can not trust information on the web, and free information. Hence why personal trainers, and sports experts like me are needed. This is also why kids waste their time in the gym and with supplements that don't work. Very few supplements are good, and vitamins are only good if you know how to properly use them. Training, and Diet are the most important things if you want to get in shape. With out them your really just wasting your time. This is the whole reason why i have started writing, and teaching people, its the reason why i train people. ANd i can admit that when i was younger i didn't train with good form at times, and it was in those times that i really didn't gain any thing. in retrospect i now know why that happened. Form, training, diet they all go together like a puzzle. This is why the Auger came to me for his diet, work out, and supplement plan.
go to the bottom of the page and vote on the next pictures that we will post of the auger!

auger part 6 day 1 sasquatch
today is day one of the experiment. and a very nice day at that. the weather is about 68 degrees blue skies. So i decided i would go out side and spend some time with my nephew before i would get to the gym and start the auger. as i walked out side i noticed that there were a lot of dogs barking in and around my home, so i grabbed my camera and decided to take a look. my nephew grabbed me and told me that we needed to play. so i stopped in my tracks grabbed the bat and he began to pitch to me. i started hitting the balls gently back in and around him as he threw. and then i smashed a ball over the fence. my nephew ran after it, and thats when i heard a rustling in the bushes. i grabbed my camera and ran to see what was all the commotion. as we approached the sasquatch we noticed him steadily looking around i started snapping pictures off. i was nearly killed before the big day. we ran back to the home and started playing with baseballs again. here is one of those pictures.
this is day one of the auger experience prepare for the auger. The auger was still experiencing a lot of problems from yesterdays shopping. I think that the bruins win and me deciding not to write his shoulder and arms workouts yet were stressing him out. so i decided that i may play a few tricks on the auger today and see what his reactions would be. first off the auger needed to get ready as if he was going to war. so he had to wear his work boots. put your boots on and prepare for battle. auger has been showing every one his new boots that he got. they are some kind of special forces boot. they only weight about 12 ounces. the problem is he is so busy showing them to every one he's been walking around the locker room with only one shoe on. so trick number 1 i will pull on him today is to tell him that i am not going to write the shoulders and arms and i will photograph his reaction. 2ndly the auger is supposed to be here at 6, and its 5 48. so i am not sure if i will have to end this here and keep you waiting. till tomorrow.
just as i was about to publish the blog the auger arrived! he explained to me that he had already taken 4 shits this morning, the 4 shits were not diarreah, but more solid good shits meaning that his system is being cleaned up. he felt so good that after he finished the work out , later on in the day he actually wanted to come back to the gym and work out. the work out aspect today was chest, and the work out felt great. the auger stopped with 225 pound on the incline for 6 clean paused reps. every rep was slow and controlled. good contraction and squeeze on every repetition. actually felt the best pump he has ever felt on the dips. he had not felt any thing like this in a long time. hes a little sore. but other than that he felt like his body is growing. the best part is the work out is right infront of him it made him feel a little better. Because when you have a battle plan your ready to attack. The auger felt so pumped up he ran back to stop and shop and we took this pic!!!!
so far day 1 was a success

auger part 4 the diet plan
i just wanted to give some background info on me and the augers relationship. So first of all i have known the auger since about 1994 back at the raquettime in danvers mass. this is where golds gym is now and i believe its no longer a golds. raquet time was a family owned gym. it was the first gym i ever joined. what it had was a lot of good weightlifting equipment, both free weight and nautilas stuff. it mostly had a great group of guys. best of all i could ride my bike to the gym, that was the most important thing. it was about a 10 min ride. so there was my cardio i would ride in and work out. i used to get a ride on leg nights. every other day i would ride my bike. some of the great characters from the gym have actually died early deaths, but people that i will never forget. some like the infamous jimmy parker. and one of my good friends wayne grenier, big lew peppe , big mike licoli, the crazy dr guy, eric hussey, chris paulino, and many more. but big richie auger kind of kept to him self he was always upbeat, and very excited , you would see him doing air guitar. then we both ended up at a gym called nautilas plus. this was the gym of all gyms. i have been to thousands of gyms all over the world and very few can even compare to come close. just to get an idea it would take you 1 full minute to walk from the mens locker room all the way to the cable crossover machine. it wasn't that the gym was huge, but the gym was amazing. full of characters, full of pro bodybuilders, top powerlifters, athletes, pro wrestlers, and it had the equipment that would allow you to train till you bleed, puke, or pass out. i took full advantage of that. so did the auger i remember one day i was probably hipped up on some energy drink when i walked into the gym i saw the auger standing doing leg press. i started screaming "you got mail" and walked over to him and asked him what time it was? he said there is a clock over there man. he pointed to the wall and i said no man its auger time. auger looked at me puzzled. i screamed its auger time over and over again during each of my sets. i actually screamed it so much that the auger actually got pissed off, he asked me if i wanted to go out side and fist fight . i actually started to laugh for a second because i thought he was joking , then i saw he wasn't joking . in no way did i want to hurt the augers feelings so i just said hey man i am only kidding around. the auger just walked away, pissed off. it was an awkward but good experience looking back we just laugh at the whole situation.
the point is you never know what's going to happen in life . look at this .. now i am helping the auger to complete something never imagined.
so tomorrow we will be going to the grocery store to buy the foods .. we will see how much he spent, and what foods he bought , look forward to tomorrow and stay tuned for day 1 which is sunday please follow this blog and share with your friends ..thanks for reading!

the auger experiment part 3
ok so here we are, the first day of the auger experiment has begun we have taken the before pictures. it will now be a journey to see if in fact you can get the same results from taking supplements with proper diet and training as you could with steroids. so lets take a look at the typical steroid cycle. for first time juicers the average weight gain is 30 pounds. and after that usually a gain of 10 -12 pounds depending on the cycle. this is average gains once again some people experience more and some experience less. now as we look at strength gains the auger will be performing a few max lifts this week to show a starting point we will be listing those tomorrow. up till now his diet has been mainly foods he has chosen on his own. lets ask the auger him self and see what foods he has been eating on a regular basis.
chicken , oatmeal, special k cereal, bannanas, 3-4 protein shakes a day, apples, steak in moderation, penut butter by jiffy (horrible choice by the way) pears and apple sauce, eggs in moderation, pasta. cheat foods such as waffles , italian sausage.
his max deadlift of all time is 460 x 5 reps. squat 405 x 2 these were not below parallel. 185 straight bar curl.
so now we have also established an all time strength training.
